If you were reading back in May, you might remember that Joel and I were debating whether or not to take a boat that goes right up to the lava flow. We did it, and yes, it was stupid from a safety perspective, but it was a once and a lifetime experience I will never forget.

On the other hand, sometimes something is "once in a lifetime" because you never want to do it again! :)

Anyway, we had a great time. I even bumped into someone I knew from a message board in real life at a luau, which is an excellent story that merits an entry of its own.
Meanwhile, it's a stormy Sunday afternoon. My portrait subjects who had booked for this afternoon rescheduled so we can shoot outdoor photos on a sunny day, and I get to sit around catching up on email and cuddling the pets and ignoring Mount Laundry. If I close my eyes, I can't seeee yoooouuu Mt Laundry.
There's no place like home.

I'm working on Mt. Laundry!!
Sounds like you had a great trip!
It was totally worth getting violently seasick for.
